Illawarra-South Coast Children’s Book Council is seeking expressions of interest from storytellers who can tell Aboriginal, African and/or Arabic stories. Sunday 15 MarchSt Patrick’s Day at Vienna Cottage, 38 Alexander Street, Hunters Hill.  11am – 3pm.  Program now full with the following storytellers telling on the day – Reilly McCarran, Maggie Newlyn, Stephen Martin, Vivienne Ward, Ebba Bodame, Annie Eyers, Kiran Shah, Barbara Castledine, Kerrie Parkinson, Jo Henwood, Christine Carlton and The Talespinners and we welcome Patricia who will sing Irish ballads.  Thanks to the following people who are bringing cakes for the cake stall Marie Smith, Sue Alvarez, Barbara Castledine, Jo Henwood, Vivienne Ward and Stanley Cribb.  MCs for the day are Dianne Minter and Vivienne WardThis is a great day to bring the kids and the grand kids with Marie and Graham Smith running the craft activities.

 

St Patrick’s Day Raffle

Our first big fund raising event for the year is the St Patrick’s Day raffle at Vienna Cottage.  Our organiser for the raffle is Maggie Newlyn and she’d love to hear from you.  Please email Maggie on maggie.newlyn@optus.com.au or bring your contribution on the day.

 

 

Saturday 28 / Sunday 29 March Norman Lindsay Children’s Literature Festival, Norman Lindsay Gallery, 14 Norman Lindsay Crescent, Faulconbridge via Springwood Blue Mountains.  10am – 3pm each day.  Program now full with the following storytellers telling over the weekend – The Talespinners, Stephen Martin, Marie Smith, Ebba Bodame, Annie Eyers, Kiran Shah, Barbara Castledine, Jo Henwood, Eve Hofstetter, Kylie de Gour.

People running the stall include Marion Nicolson, Vivienne Ward, Leigh McMahon and Louise Sheppard.

CONGRATULATING MEMBERS

 

Congratulations to Annie Eyers on being selected as a Workshop presenter at the NSN Pacific Regional Talk Story Conference in Hawaii in July.

 

Donna Jacobs-Sife is currently on a storytelling tour of South Africa.

 

Congratulations to Sue Alvarez who successfully applied to the University of Technology Sydney for a final year student placement to conduct a marketing plan for the Guild.  The student will be interviewing selected members within the next few months.
