Kiran has performed and offered workshops in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney and internationally in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Scotland, and Singapore. She tells to anyone, anywhere. Her audiences have consisted of all ages; from playgroup to adults in all venues: parks, libraries, kindergartens and child care centres, museums, trains, theatres, country clubs, nursing homes and corporations.
Kiran enjoys telling folktales from Asia (drawing from her Indian heritage and living in Singapore most of her life). Kiran pioneered the revival of the storytelling movement in Singapore in 1999. Her background in early childhood stands her in good stead with little ones and they enjoy interactive (participatory stories) as well as those using props. Alternatively, she has customized workshops for oil executives in Malaysia and military officers in Singapore. Kiran believes strongly that stories have the power to promote a better understanding of and respect for each others’ cultures and religions.
