with renowned American Storyteller and Author– Diane Wolkstein

’The Art and Craft of Storytelling’

We naturally engage and connect with others through stories. In our workshop, we will experiment and explore story so we may return to our natural ease with story and on the way pick up a few techniques. If you wish, bring a short story to work on. The workshop is also open to those who enjoy listening to stories.

Time: 10am -4pm

Cost - $50 members / $70 non-members / $55 concession.

Sun March 20th - World Storytelling Day "Fire and Water"

Grab your marshmallows for an evening of storytelling and sausage sizzling around a good old campfire in celebration of World Storytelling Day. Storytellers – Christine Carlton, Jo Henwood and Lilli Pang

STORYTELLING WORKSHOP DAY

10.00—12.30 STORY CIRCLE

This will be a special story circle with University of Western Sydney Students in Early Childhood Studies sharing some of their creative work with storytelling along with other gifted tellers offering stories for adult and family audiences. Also there is an ‘open-mike’ opportunity for anyone who’d like to tell as well.

12.30 -1.30  Bring own lunch. Tea and coffee provided

1.30 -4.00 WORKSHOP

STORYTELLING FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD with Patsy Allan

Enjoy an afternoon of interactive folktales, stories, songs and rhymes with props, puppets and participation.

Patsy Allan is a dynamic storyteller from Canberra who specializes in Creative Storytelling for children aged 0—7 – babies, toddlers and preschoolers to early primary children.

Date: Saturday 21 May

Venue: The Writers Centre, Callan Park Balmain Road Rozelle. Main Entrance opposite Cecily Street in Balmain Road and follow the signs to the Centre.

Cost: $35 or $25 members, pensioners/ students. (come for the whole day or just for the workshop)

Friday 28 October Guild Special event fund-raiser

The Australian Storytelling Guild (NSW) presents 'Gruesome Horror Tales'

- a shadowy evening of blood-curdling gothic storytelling with spine-chilling live music by candlelight.

This event is for adults who like to be scared silly!

Date and Time: Friday 28th October -  8pm

Venue:The El Rocco Room (formerly Bar Me) 154 Brougham Street, Kings Cross.

Cost: $25 pre-paid or $30 at the door (includes a free wine/beer/soft drink)
